| CHARITY INFORMATION:
The Haunted West Frankfort Committee is an all charity organization. In 2003 the first haunted house was built in only two weeks with all proceeds benefiting the BrittaniPrice Family in West Frankfort. That year Hacker Jail raised $800 towards medical costs for Britani Price, a West Frankfort teenager diagnosed with cancer. Since that time Britani has passed and in her honor we continue to do the haunted events each year and give 100% of proceeds and donations back to the community through a number of donations to various organizations. In 2004 Hacker Asylum raised nearly $10,000. The Hacker House donated $4,000 to the community. Last year, in 2006, $4,500 was donated, as well.
The 2008 application process for allocations has begun. Check back at a later time for more information on how your group can apply for funds allocations.
The haunted house raised over 4500 and $700 recently went to charity at the Crosswalk Community Action Agency Food Pantry in West Frankfort. The pantry serves approximately 150 families and individuals each week with an increase around the holidays. The 700 donated by the Haunted West Frankfort Committee included nearly $400 at Krogers in West Frankfort in non-parishable food items and nearly $300 at Tom's Mad Pricer in West Frankfort with 20 turkeys and 10 Cornish Hens. Committee President Tara Fasol said other donations pending including money to be given towards the Shop with a Cop Program in West Frankfort and the sponsorship of a senior citizens for a full calendar year through the Wit and Wisdom Meals on Wheels Program through Senior Services in West Frankfort.
